REYUS Unveils Debut Album ‘I’m Listening’, A 20-Track Journey Through the Full Spectrum of His Sound
The South London-based independent artist refuses to be defined by a single genre on his ambitious debut, moving between House, Garage, Techno, Pop, Rock and more across 20 deeply personal tracks.
For an artist who has spent years developing his identity outside the boundaries of genre, a conventional debut album was never going to be enough.
Now, REYUS releases I’m Listening, a 20-track debut that brings together the different sides of his musical personality — from high-energy club records to introspective compositions shaped by personal experiences, relationships, anxiety and human connection.
Rather than following a single sonic direction, I’m Listening embraces the freedom of moving wherever the music takes him.
House, Garage, Techno, Pop and Rock sit alongside one another throughout the project, creating an album that feels less like a statement about one particular sound and more like a portrait of the artist behind it.
“This album represents the kind of artist I wanted to be when I was a kid, not tied down to one genre or subgenre,” explains REYUS. “I listen to a huge range of music and what I want to create changes all the time, so this album represents that.”
Recorded across Hackney, London, Dorking and Ibiza, the album reflects the environments that have played an important role in REYUS’ creative development.
Its influences stretch from Four Tet and Jamie xx to Bicep and Fred again.., while the record’s constantly shifting moods reflect an artist more interested in following ideas than fitting into a predefined category.
“There are tracks for dancing, tracks for listening and different moods throughout,” REYUS adds. “I hope people appreciate the range of creativity and, most importantly, enjoy the music.”
From the UK Underground to International Support
REYUS has steadily built a reputation for an eclectic catalogue and energetic, captivating performances, with his music receiving support from some of the biggest names across electronic music, including Tiësto, Four Tet, Gorgon City, Jamie xx, Bicep, Vintage Culture, Diplo, Solomun, Mau P and CamelPhat.
The album has already been previewed at Tomorrowland Rooftop Terrace in Ibiza, The Egg and E1, giving audiences an early introduction to the project’s broad musical palette.
His connection with the UK club scene has also continued to grow through his REYUS & Friends headline events. During 2025, the series took him across the UK and Ibiza, with performances at E1, Studio 338, Ministry of Sound, Café Mambo, 528 Ibiza and B Club Kensington.
Alongside his own events, REYUS has shared line-ups with artists including Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, Adriatique, Confidence Man, Basement Jaxx, Sparrow & Barbossa and more.
An Artist Built Around Creative Freedom
Based in Dorking, south of London, REYUS started writing music at just 10 years old, inspired by the work of the late Tim Bergling.
At 16, he performed his first club show, beginning a journey that would eventually see him spend nine years experimenting within the underground across multiple aliases and developing the sound that would become REYUS.
That journey ultimately led him to establish his own label and company, allowing him to release music independently and maintain control over his creative direction.
For REYUS, that independence is not simply a business decision. It is fundamental to the project.
By retaining ownership of his music and the freedom to determine his own creative path, he has been able to move between styles without having to satisfy the expectations of a particular genre, scene or audience.
I’m Listening is therefore the culmination of that approach.
Twenty tracks. Multiple genres. Different moods and perspectives.
Rather than asking where REYUS fits, the album asks a more interesting question: what happens when an artist is given the freedom to follow every musical instinct?
‘I’m Listening’ is out now.
