Change the Beat Makes Its London Debut at fabric, Bringing Together More Than 40 Electronic Music Industry Figures
The international non-profit will host a 12-hour programme of industry panels, networking, photography and club performances on 15 October, championing greater representation and opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists.
London’s electronic music community will take centre stage on Thursday 15 October as Change the Beat makes its London debut at fabric, bringing together more than 40 artists, industry professionals and organisations for a programme designed to strengthen connections and expand opportunities across the electronic music sector.
Running from 3 pm to 3 am, the event will combine professional development, industry networking, a photography exhibition and a club night in fabric’s Main Room. The initiative aims to create meaningful connections between emerging talent and the people shaping the industry, addressing key challenges surrounding bookings, record-label deals and artist representation.
Hosted by Sunita Dhaliwal of The Everyday Agency, the daytime programme will feature three panel discussions focused on practical routes into the electronic music business.
The first session, How to Get Booked as a DJ in London, will be moderated by Katie Knight and feature Alex Holland of Broadwick Live, Martha Bolton of Not Bad For A Girl, Pete Jordan of Junction 2 / LWE and Steven Braines of HE.SHE.THEY.
The second discussion, How to Get Signed to an A-List Dance Label, will be moderated by Sydney Blu, Founder of Change the Beat, alongside Andy Henderson of Southern Fried / Knee Deep In Sound, Chris Goss of Hospital Records, Miles Shackleton of Toolroom and Daniel Curpen of Anjunadeep.
The final panel, How to Get Representation: Managers & Agents, will be moderated by Finlay Johnson, with contributions from Frances Shillito of Night Department, Kal Jhugroo of CAA, Shanae Dennis of The Team and Lucy Harrower of Frame Artists.
Together, the sessions will offer artists direct insight into the decision-making processes behind bookings, A&R, label signings and professional representation, providing an opportunity to learn from established figures working across different areas of the industry.
For Sydney Blu, the London event represents an important step in the organisation’s mission to make the electronic music industry more accessible.
“Bringing Change the Beat to fabric is a huge moment for us,” Blu explains. “We’ve built this event around what we believe artists genuinely need — access to the people shaping the industry, honest conversations about how it works, and real opportunities to build relationships.”
From 7 pm to 10 pm, the programme will continue with an industry mixer organised in association with AFEM, Pete Tong DJ Academy, Not Bad For A Girl and Beatport. Alongside networking opportunities, the initiative will provide a live performance platform for emerging DJs selected from Not Bad For A Girl and Pete Tong DJ Academy, performing alongside N1NJA.
The event will also present Women Who Shaped Electronic Music, a photography exhibition celebrating 18 influential artists whose contributions have helped shape the genre. The featured figures include ANNA, Annie Mac, Crystal Waters, DJ Minx, DJ Paulette, DJ Rap, Eli & Fur, Honey Dijon, Ida Engberg, Lottie, Lisa Lashes, Maya Jane Coles, Nicole Moudaber, Sam Divine, Sister Bliss of Faithless, Smokin Jo, Superjane and Ultra Naté.
The final chapter of the programme will take place in fabric’s Main Room from 10 pm until 3 am, featuring performances from TSHA, Kitty Amor, Sydney Blu, Emily Nash and N1NJA.
Beyond the event itself, the initiative has a broader industry objective. Proceeds from the club night will support Change the Beat’s international artist development programme, which provides education, mentorship and opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists. The organisation has set a target of supporting 300 artists in securing label opportunities by 2028.
With its London debut, Change the Beat is expanding its international reach while reinforcing the importance of access, professional development and representation within electronic music. By bringing artists, industry decision-makers and organisations together, the event aims to turn conversations about inclusion into tangible opportunities for the next generation of talent.
