Above & Beyond release a new remix package for “Quicksand (Don’t Go),” their collaboration with longtime writing partner and vocalist Zoë Johnston, a standout track from the trio’s latest album, ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’.
The package brings together two brand-new remixes from Mark Sherry and Ciaran McAuley, alongside previously released versions from Sultan + Shepard and Ben Nicky. Together, the four producers take “Quicksand” from deeper progressive territory into uplifting and tech trance, giving the track a markedly different life on the dance floor.
Mark Sherry turns in one of the package’s hardest tracks. Known for the driving tech trance sound that has taken him to Tomorrowland, Ultra, A State of Trance, Creamfields, and Dreamstate, Sherry has worked with artists including Armin van Buuren and Giuseppe Ottaviani and remains a regular presence on the international trance circuit.
His connection to “Quicksand” started at Dreamstate SoCal last November, where he heard Above & Beyond play the original.
“I was playing at the Dreamstate SoCal event in November 2025 when A&B were on,” says Mark. “‘Quicksand’ was easily the standout track of their set. It sent huge shivers down my spine. I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the release. It’s definitely a bucket-list project.”
Ciaran McAuley goes straight for the emotional core of the record. As one of the leading names in uplifting and vocal trance, the Irish producer has worked alongside Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, and Gareth Emery, while building his own following through a steady run of melodic, vocal-led releases.
“It’s been not only a dream for younger me, but I’m sure for many trance enthusiasts, to be part of what these guys have done. Big respect,” says Ciaran. “I’m truly grateful to be a part of this massive single from Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston.”
The new mixes follow two very different takes on the track from Ben Nicky and Sultan + Shepard. Ben Nicky ramps up the tempo with a harder, tech trance version built for peak-time sets, while Sultan + Shepard head in the opposite direction with a deeper progressive interpretation.
“Quicksand (Don’t Go)” debuted at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 600 show in Mexico City and has since been played throughout their 175,000-ticket ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ global album tour, quickly becoming one of the album’s fan favorites.
